Valor-Athletics-BD-6The Valor BD-6 is ideal for anyone who is building a home gym. It can be used for both squats and bench presses. It even has side weight racks that I found to be very beneficial.

This home gym has a maximum recommended bar weight of 500 pounds, which is a pretty decent number in my opinion.

Keep in mind, however, that this particular home gym does not come with a utility bench, but I was able to find one that suited my particular workout needs. This home gym can be used for flat bench exercises, incline bench exercises and also military presses. However, this will greatly depend on the type of and the dimensions of the utility bench that you pair it with.

When I first got my Valor BD-6, it was easy to put together. If you can put together a basic piece of equipment, then this should be easy for you to assemble. You will be up and ready to do squats and bench routines in no time at all. One word of advice and that would be to stack your weights so that you will be motivated to use them more often. Don’t just let them lay on the floor underutilized. I found that this worked for me.

The thing that I like the most about my home gym is that even though it doesn’t weigh that much, it is so easy to slide around the floor and put into various locations. Sometimes I like to exercise by the window and other times in the corner nook of my bedroom. The machine allows me to do this and it is very sturdy to boot. I get easy portability, great storage options and a wonderful workout all in one well designed and affordable home gym.
